DESCRIPTION

This class will cover BLS content, videos, exam review and demonstration of skills. The program is geared for healthcare providers. Others may attend. The exam contains 25 multiple choice questions. The exam will be given in class. This is an IN-PERSON class and all requirements for BLS Healthcare Provider will be completed in this session.  

• This IN-PERSON class session includes course content, skills validation and written exam
• 3 hours for Renewal  CNA  HHA Only
• Cards will be sent digitally with 24 hours
• Certificates of completion (as applies) will be given at the end of class.  

BEFORE THE CLASS – MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

Every student must have their own copy of the NEW 2025 BLS Provider manual (No shared books are allowed)

• Books are available at the class but will be less expensive if purchased online.
• AHA requires EACH student have a current copy of the book before, during and after the class. Books may not be shared.

• Contract facility personnel & K-Pass - eCard $12, Book (current A.H.A. Provider Manual) purchased from Key Med (if you do not bring with you) $25

CONTINUING EDUCATION:

Continuing education for a total of 3 hours for CNA, HHA, EMS.  The BRN does not approve continuing education for BLS courses.

HPMC STAFF IMPORTANT NOTES

• Education Approval Form is REQUIRED.
• Must be submitted no later than the day of class to avoid not receiving pay.
• Download from HPMC Connect → Education Page → Quick Links.
• No cost for HPMC employees to attend.
• Form must be submitted 72 hours prior to class to receive paid education time.

DAY‑OF‑CLASS INFORMATION

Arrival Requirements

• Arrive 15–30 minutes early for registration.
• Students arriving late after class begins will be turned away.

Dress Code

In order to maintain a safe and professional presence when attending all HPMC classes, business casual attire is expected of all participants.

**Unacceptable attire includes the following:

• Revealing,  see-through or tight-fitting garments including:
• Tube, tank, crop-tops, nor other low cut tops
• Shorts, skirts, dresses
• Saggy/baggy pants  or shirts
• Leggings without proper longer shirt or sweater coverage
• Ripped or distressed clothing; jeans
• Sandals, slip on shoes without back/heel straps(e.g. “Crocs”), high heeled/platform shoes and no open toe shoes—all are unsafe for class participation
• No gang related attire
• No hats

**Note:  Persons not wearing professional and safe clothing to class may not be admitted and will be asked to reschedule.
