Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – NEW 9th Edition
DESCRIPTION:
To receive a Neonatal Resuscitation card, the learner must complete the on-line exam (select either essential or advanced), then arrange an Instructor led event (mega code) session with an NRP instructor. The eCode certificate of completion for Part 1 must be brought with you to the course.
BEFORE THE CLASS – MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
PART 1 – This section focuses on building a foundation of neonatal resuscitation knowledge. To take NRP Exam. You must get into www.NRPlearningplatform.com first and register. You must first create an account in RQI partners (NRP learning platform). Be sure to study the NEW NRP Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation, 9th Edition.
- Go to the Catalog tab.
- Select the 9th Edition NRP Provider Curriculum and Enroll. It is important that you select the correct one.
- Essential (Mother & Baby Units) Lessons 1-4
- Advanced (L&D, NICU and Respiratory) Lessons 1-11
- Complete payment information to enroll.
- Complete Part 1 (online learning assessment) first (You have unlimited attempts to take the exam).
- Upon completion be sure to print out the ecode certificate of completion for Part 1. You MUST bring this certificate to your Instructor Led Event (ILE).
- Students have 90 days from the time they do the test to do a megacode.

Part 2 will allow the instructors to register you for an Instructor-Led Event. DO NOT attempt to register yourself for an ILE. The instructors for the ILE you signed up for on kmreducation.com will sign you up for the ILE.

2025 - 9th Edition materials can be utilized to take courses. Books are available for purchase via NRP 9th Edition Series | shopAAP for $76.95 (taxes and shipping is not included).
DAY-OF-CLASS INFORMATION
Arrival Requirements
- Arrive 15–30 minutes early for registration.
- Students arriving late after class begins will be turned away.
Dress Code
In order to maintain a safe and professional presence when attending all HPMC classes, business casual attire is expected of all participants.
**Unacceptable attire includes the following:
- Revealing, see-through or tight-fitting garments including:
- Tube, tank, crop-tops, nor other low cut tops
- Shorts, skirts, dresses
- Saggy/baggy pants or shirts
- Leggings without proper longer shirt or sweater coverage
- Ripped or distressed clothing; jeans
- Sandals, slip on shoes without back/heel straps(e.g. “Crocs”), high heeled/platform shoes and no open toe shoes—all are unsafe for class participation
- No gang related attire
- No hats
**Note: Persons not wearing professional and safe clothing to class may not be admitted and will be asked to reschedule.
CONTINUING EDUCATION (CE)
All CEs are provided in the online exam. No CEs are given for the Instructor-Led Event.
HPMC STAFF IMPORTANT NOTES
- Education Approval Form is REQUIRED.
- Must be submitted no later than the day of class to avoid not receiving pay.
- Download from HPMC Connect → Education Page → Quick Links.
- No cost for HPMC employees to attend.
- Form must be submitted 72 hours prior to class to receive paid education time.
NRP Ecard instructions: How to Claim Ecard after class ends:
Upon completion of the Part 2 didactics, student must claim their own card. Directions on how to claim their card are below:
If a student calls and say they cannot access their card here is the instructions to give to them.
- Go to the website nrplearningplatform.com
- Sign in with their username and password.
- Look on the left side for ecertificates and ecard.
- Select the above.
- A screen will come up that says ecertificates and ecards.
- To the right of the ecard line it will say Actions with three dots under the word actions.
- Select the three dots and select either view card, download ecard or email ecard.
- Select download ecard and right click and print as many copies as you need.
The NRP instructors do not have access to the student’s cards. Only the student can get their own card.
