ACLS Renewal = Starting in 2026, the ACLS course will be 6 hours in length. An optional BLS add-on will be available for those who need it, which will require an additional 2 hours. The total duration for participants choosing the BLS add-on will be 8 hours.

ACLS Update/Renewal AHA – 2025 Guidelines Full Live Course

DESCRIPTION:
The AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Course (ACLS) Provider Course is intended for Healthcare workers who direct or participate during the resuscitation of a patient. The course emphasizes the importance of good CPR to patient survival, the integration of effective basic life support with advanced cardiovascular life support interventions, and the importance of effective team interaction and communications during resuscitation.
- Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
- Airway Management
- ACLS Pharmacology
- Basic Life Support (BLS) review
- Management of acute coronary syndromes and stroke
- How to be both a leader and a team member in a resuscitation team
This class will cover ACLS content, videos, dysrhythmia overview, exam review and demonstration of skills. Knowledge of cardiac dysrhythmias is essential. The exam contains multiple rhythm strips for interpretation.
BEFORE THE CLASS — MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Complete ALL Required Pre-Course Work – you must complete both items below and bring printed certificates with your name on them. You may access the pre-course work via: https://elearning.heart.org/course/424/
- ACLS Pre‑Course Self‑Assessment (with score)
- ACLS Pre‑Course Work (video lessons completed)
Do NOT choose the stand‑alone “ACLS Pre-course Self‑Assessment.” If you do not bring BOTH certificates, you will be turned away. No exceptions.

REQUIRED TEXTBOOK
Every student must have their own copy of the NEW 2025 ACLS Provider Manual (No shared books are allowed).
- Books are available at the class but will be less expensive if purchased online.

OPTIONAL BLS ADD‑ON
If you want to add your BLS renewal during this session, you must request it at registration under “Comments or special requests.” Do NOT register separately for BLS.
DAY‑OF‑CLASS INFORMATION
Arrival Requirements
- Arrive 15–30 minutes early for registration.
- Students arriving late after class begins will be turned away.
Dress Code
In order to maintain a safe and professional presence when attending all HPMC classes, business casual attire is expected of all participants.
**Unacceptable attire includes the following:
- Revealing, see-through or tight-fitting garments including:
- Tube, tank, crop-tops, nor other low cut tops
- Shorts, skirts, dresses
- Saggy/baggy pants or shirts
- Leggings without proper longer shirt or sweater coverage
- Ripped or distressed clothing; jeans
- Sandals, slip on shoes without back/heel straps(e.g. “Crocs”), high heeled/platform shoes and no open toe shoes—all are unsafe for class participation
- No gang related attire
- No hats
**Note: Persons not wearing professional and safe clothing to class may not be admitted and will be asked to reschedule.
CONTINUING EDUCATION (CE)
- 7.0 Hours CE provided at the in‑person course: BRN CEP# 15122 • EMS Provider #62‑2034 (Notify staff during registration if EMS hours are needed.)
- Class time may take more hours (up to 8 hours) based on numbers of students, pre-course work and remediation.
HPMC STAFF IMPORTANT NOTES
- Education Approval Form is REQUIRED.
- Must be submitted no later than the day of class to avoid not receiving pay.

- No cost for HPMC employees to attend.
- Form must be submitted 72 hours prior to class to receive paid education time.
